The folklore ensemble "HAJDUK STANKO" was founded in the autumn of 2001 as an informal group of enthusiests and admirers of folk art, traditional song, dance and the customs of Serbian people, as well as those who live in Serbia. Its common, and at the same time the first performance was held od 25th of September in the hall of the theatre in Sabac, with Serbian Cultural and Artistic Association "semberia" from Bijeljina. On 19th of October the first senior group performed as a guest group of one of the most renowned folk group in Serbia, Academic Cultural and Artistic Association "Spanac" from Belgrade at the concert in Sabac in the sports hall of the High school of Sabac. In the following season the association solved its great existential problems and at the same time two groups, which ware founded from the very start were preparing a program. These groups were: the first senior folk-dance group and children's folk-dance group. At that time the association had70 members. In August of 2002 it took part at the international festival of Odeern (the Netherlands) for the first time. On 21st of September, on the Nativity of the Virgin Marry, the association was formally registered as a citizen association - non government organization with the Federal Ministry of Justice - Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. It passed the bylaws of the association and elected the chairman and the body. By the organiyer's invitation, the children's folk-dance group participated at the international festival "Kad lipe cvatu" (When the lime trees bloom) in Vrnjacka Banja, and on 25th of September went on its firs tour to Velingrad (Bulgaria). The same year in October the association enrolled 30 new members, formed preparatory children's folk-dance group, and in December it organized the first annual children's concert In front of the crowded hall of the theatre in Sabac, which became a tradition in the following years. In the season of 2002/2003, both folk-dance groups (children's and seniors) were enriched nine choreofrahies in the performing repertoire at the time. A fifteen-day our and partaking at two linked festivals in Nea Karvali (Greece) and Istambul (Turkey) in the summer of the same year, came as the most beautiful finish of the season. In the season of 2002/2003 the popularity of the association expanded. At the beginning of the autumn two branch clubs in Dobric and Stitar were formed, and 110 new members were enrolled. At the regular conference the association elected the new chairman, doctor Petar Knezevic, who has been in charge of the folk-dance group equally successful since than. The children's folk dance group went on a festival I Aydin (Turkey), and on 21st of June it participated again in the festival of the children' folklore "Kad lipe cvatu" in Vrnjacka Banja. The senior folk-dance group also participated in Valjevo at the biggest competitive festival of traditional songs and dances in Serbia "Zlatni opanak" (Golden peasant shoe). It performed its authentically choreography "Dances from macva" and in the competition with 65 ensembles from Serbia, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Diaspora, it didn't gain any reward. That summer it attended the big international festival in Almeria (Spain). During the season of 2004/2005 the association alredy had 250 members and the rise in the dancing and musical quality of the members was obvious. The orchestra was made up of 11 members, mostly educated, and was represented with all instrumental groups. Three new choreographies were set up: "Herzegovina's vibrant dance Lindzo", "Sopska dances" and "The humoresque from Banat", and "The Suite from Vranje" was again put on the repertoire. In the summer of 2005 at were performed in the choreography of D.Putnik for the solo dancing couple. The association greeted and welcomed the friends from Calvello, the folk-dance group "Lifainzar" at the end of Avgust. In Deceber the children's ensemble took part in the series of festivals "Ponesi opanke" (Take your peasant shoes) in Sabac with its contemporaries from Slovakia, Croatia and Germany, and in the spring of 2005 it took part in the same festival in Belgrade. It attended the festival in Kilis (Turkey) from 2nt till 10th of June. On 25th December the senior ensemble organized its first annual concert and presented itself to the audience in the theatre of Sabac with the whole programmed repertoire. During the season of 2005/2006 the further rise in the number of the members and popularity in its town was expected, as well as new program activities and new organizing scheme. A certain degree of professionalism is the thing which is needed in the conditions when he following aections is functioning in the association: junior group, youth club, children's ensemble, junior ensemble, senior ensemble, club in Stitar, Dobric, Volujac and the club in the primary school of letnjikavac, with more than 350 members. |
